Bright Star Baptist Church was organized in 1913. Services were held in a house that was being used for school. The house was located on Rockmart Road in the Town of Fullerville.
In 1932, a lot of land was purchased on Old Town Road and the name was changed to Fullerville Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Smith was the first pastor in the new location, and under his leadership, the church was completely reorganized. A contract was let to build a new building for $600.00. The contractor was convinced that the people would not be able to pay him, so he changed the plans and built the building so that it could be converted into an apartment and raised the price to $750.00. The congregation sold homemade ice cream, cooked meals, etc. to help pay for the building.
In 1966, another lot of land was purchased on the south side of the church and a new auditorium was soon erected with 5,000 square feet of floor space and 5,000 feet of basement floor space for Sunday School rooms. A bus ministry was begun in 1969.
At the present time the church is under the leadership of Pastor Steve Swafford. In July of 2016, Pastor Swafford celebrated 20 years of service at Fullerville. The church has a broad range of ministries from nursery to Senior Adults and is active in many Community Activities.
We welcome everyone to visit and this could very well be the place you could call home.
